Practical Work

There's loads of ways to get stuck in and help with the care of the Church Building, Centre and Grounds. No matter your interest, your gifts and your energy levels, there are ways you can get involved....and build friendships at the same time.

There's regular cleaning and polishing on a Monday morning. Gardening monthly on Saturday mornings. And then a wide range of practical tasks throughout the year.

Just contact the office if you'd like to find out more about how you can help.

Gardening Group

An oasis of green

The St Denys Church garden and grounds are one of the few green spaces in the neighbourhood, offering an oasis for those walking past or travelling through the community. We know better than ever the benefits of green spaces for our health and wellbeing and part of our mission is to encourage wildlife for the enjoyment of all and to do our bit for conservation.

Do you want to get involved?

The garden needs regular upkeep and if you are interested in gardening, whether or not you attend the church, you may want to join us in maintaining and enhancing this space. A group of volunteers get together once a month to help with a range of tasks suitable for any ability including pruning, weeding, tidying, litter-picking as well as more ambitious projects! It’s rewarding, sociable and fun, and a great way to get involved in church and community life.

If you are interested, we meet from 9:30am-12:30pm on the first Saturday of each month (except January) please just turn up and meet at the shed at the back of the Centre. Tools are provided but if you have gardening gloves please bring them along with clothes suitable for manual work in all weathers. For more details contact the Church Office.
